Work
Two decades building engineering teams and shipping product, founder-side and operator-side. What I'm doing now, and the arc that got here.
- 2025 -- present
Director of Engineering
Director of Engineering at a consumer-tech company, running a small team that ships product, not tickets. Architecture, platform, and roadmap; still in the code. Recent surface: storage orchestration at scale, a web-app launch, a share-to-convert flow, a design-system rebuild.
- 2017 -- present
Engineering advisory practice
Independent, by referral. DORA / Westrum / DevEx audits for orgs in the 50-200 range, AI-augmented consulting & research, and 1:1 work with newly-promoted directors.

The arc
- ~2018 -- 2024
Ecommerce-platform leadership
Led product and software at ecommerce dot coms: zero-downtime migrations on big subscriber bases, P&L across web & ops, and the best teams I've built.
- ~2010 -- 2018
The founder decade
Founded and co-founded a string of small software-and-services companies; some found traction, most didn't. Alongside it, an early-CTO seat on a venture that scaled, a first-hire role at a compliance-software startup, and a boutique consulting practice across several verticals.
- late 2000s
Enterprise and school
An information-systems degree and internships across enterprise software and the broader Big Tech orbit: developer docs and tooling for a platform launch, contract and student-partner work, a contest win that turned into the first full-time job and a systems-design grad program.
- the 2000s
Founder mode, the original
Started a web-design business as a teenager and incorporated it building sites for small businesses and musical artists around the New England town where I grew up.
